Regional IT Quality Network Workshop

An open discussion on Regional IT Quality Network was held on the 7th of April 2010, as part of the Regional IT Business to Business Summit in Skopje, Macedonia, organized by USAID funded RCI (Regional Competitiveness Initiative) project.
Within the official part of the summit both web platforms - Quality2IT.org and IT2Business.org - were presented to 100 representatives of IT SMEs, IT associations and USAID projects.
More than hundred hard copies of the IT2Business Catalogue and additional explications about the issues within the catalogue were provided to the participants at the event. Some of them were looking for specific products and/ or partners and expressed an opinion that the catalogue is an excellent solution for their current demand.

During the workshop more details about the platforms were discussed between representatives of: Pan European ICT & e-Business Network for SMEs, IT associations and IT companies from Eastern European countries. The participants in the discussion demonstrated great interest in the web platforms as information sources for successful practices and Information Technology (IT) solutions/ services. Different suggestions for optimization of the platforms’ functionality and usefulness were made. Decisions regarding possibilities for implementation of new functions in the web sites, promotion of the platforms and encouragement of the regional stakeholders to promote and use the resources of the platforms were taken.

The platforms were launched, respectively it2business in October 2009 and quality2it in April 2010, under the initiative of European Software Institute - Center Bulgaria with the financial support of RCI. The web platforms are a fundamental for building of regional economic capacity and improving of the competitiveness of IT and other business sectors in Eastern Europe.
